Our route made a large loop through western anatolia, the west half of the great rectangle that is Turkey. Our main stops were the world heritage town of Safranbolu in the north-east, the rock dwelling area of Cappadocia in the south-east, the antique Greek and Roman sites in the south-west and Istanbul in the north-west. It was a lot of ground to cover and we spent little time in between. Some of those places are here.
