Lebanon

We made a day-trip excursion from Syria into Lebanon to see the gargantuan Roman ruins at Baalbek. The ability of the ancients to move a stone reached a pinnacle here. Stones of similar size were moved by the ancients as special objects (and the Renaissance Europeans struggled mightily to relocate them) but here such massive stones are just regular construction elements.
