Two of Mui's former architecture students were invested as Fellows of the American Institute of Architects at a ceremony in Las Vegas in 2019. The investiture took place in the just completed faux new-deal-art-deco Smith Center, a well done recreation of the style (including a less modest version of the teutonic angels that grace Hoover Dam), but also probably the anthesis of the modernist dogma embraced by large number of architects in the hall. They gave the building's architect an ovation nonetheless.
