With the James Herriot remnisisences and their TV interpretation decades ago as prolog, Mui and I became enamored of the books of Gerald Durrell. When they too received a TV adaptation, the die was cast. Usually trying to find the authentic experience of a bygone age isn't very easy as a mass market tourist, but fortunately Corfu had more than enough to share with interlopers.
