In 2010 Mui joined the Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra. It is a non-audition chorus with some 200 amateur singers and a full professional orchestra. I took some photos of her first performance, more with an interest in the architecture of the space than of the actual performance. But it was the last performance of long time director Arlene Sagen, and I tried to capture that event as well. Event photography and the particular problems of large group performances had become a new challenge, and I have been photographing the performances ever since. It is the closest I've come to something professional photographers do, though like travel photography, it remains a labor of love.
